Tale Berger Hølmebakk

Tale Berger Hølmebakk is a Norwegian furniture and product designer based in Copenhagen.

Tale Berger

Tale holds a BA from The Oslo School of Architecture and Design and an MA from the Royal Danish Academy. Her design practice is characterized by honest materials, simplicity, and aesthetic durability, with work that ranges from sculptural pieces to humble everyday objects.

Tale draws inspiration from vernacular furniture and traditional crafts. Through subtle changes in form, material, or texture, she aims to reinterpret the familiar and create objects that are at once unexpected and intimate.

With a passion for keeping traditional crafts and local production alive, she prefers working with materials that can be sourced and manufactured locally. By considering production and material properties from the early stages of the design process, she aims at designing furniture that is rational in both use and production.
