Vilde Hagelund
Vilde Hagelund (b. 1992) is a Norwegian designer who combines craftsmanship, material knowledge, and technology to create sustainable products with longevity. She explores form through experimentation, particularly with wood.
Vilde Hagelund (b. 1992) begins her design process by questioning the established norms and exploring form through experimentation. She has a close relationship with materials, especially wood, and constantly alternates between digital and analog sketching. Through this process, she works hands-on with materials, examining how form relates to space and refining construction details. With an ambition to offer an alternative to mass-produced, short-lived products, Hagelund combines craftsmanship, material knowledge, and technology to create durable products designed to last.
Hagelund has a diverse professional background, holding a bachelor's degree in multimedia technology and design from the University of Agder, as well as a bachelor's and master's degree in product design from OsloMet. She has interned with Andreas Engesvik and the outdoor furniture manufacturer Vestre. In 2019, she was awarded the DOGA mark as Newcomer of the Year and named one of the world's most promising young design talents by *Wallpaper* magazine. Her work has received international recognition, and in 2022, she was awarded the Scheibler Design Prize in collaboration with the National Museum.
