DS Unika 2025
DS Unika is an exhibition showcasing unique objects from various designers. The concept provides designers with a platform to showcase their work and express themselves more freely than they often have the opportunity to do. The exhibition focuses on giving the audience insight into design processes and highlighting talented designers. Hidden gems in the form of prototypes, sketches, and other elements from both young and established designers have been presented and auctioned off over the years, and the interest among collectors is steadily increasing.
NEW CONCEPT 2025
For DS Unika 2025, the concept is to create unique objects from Norwegian wood. Eight designers, carefully selected by an external expert jury, will each develop their own object over the next 12 months. The finished results will be showcased in a dedicated exhibition during Designers' Saturday 2025.
The project begins with an inspiring workshop at the Norwegian furniture manufacturer Hamran. Located close to large forest areas with southern oak, Hamran provides participants with access to Norwegian wood and tools. Over the course of three days, they will be inspired by Norwegian craftsmanship traditions and each other's creative ideas in Hamran's carpentry workshop.
