Volver x Kristine Five Melvær
Renown Norwegian designer Kristine Five Melvær and Norwegian rug studio Volver collaborate on a rug collection that explores the diversity of textile craft across embroidery, weaving and tufting, capturing some of the personal references from the designer ́s life story. Known for her multidisciplinary work with a wide range of objects, from vases to interior textiles, Kristine is no stranger to experimenting with new techniques and pushing the boundaries of craft. In later years she has focused on deepening her expertise and innovating with textiles. This collaboration celebrates am mutual devotion of the designer and Volver to artisanal techniques and translating the heritage into new bold and modern designs.
About Kristine Five Melvær
Norwegian designer Kristine Five Melvær designs tableware, lighting, furniture, graphic design, clothes and textile objects. She holds a Masters degree in Industrial Design rom the Oslo School of Architecture and Design, and a Masters degree inVisual Communication from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts.
Melvær bridges the two disciplines and focuses on the communicative potential of objects in order to create emotional bonds between object and user. She works freely across product categories and materials, and often beyond the product itself, and into art direction and graphic design.

About Volver
Volver is a Norwegian design studio known for its exclusive and artistic rugs. The studio was founded in 2018 by Ksenia Stanishevski, a designer with a background in both visual arts and industrial design. Volver Studios aims to redefine the role of rugs in interior design, transforming them into central interior pieces. Volver works closely with Indian, Chinese and European manufacturers to create high-quality rugs, with collections ranging from nature-inspired designs to modern Scandinavian aesthetics. Volver works extensively with contract projects, offering also customization and bespoke design solutions. Rugs and carpets from Volver Studios are popular in both private homes and commercial settings, and the studio places great emphasis on sustainability and social responsibility in its production process.
