About House of Holmedal

House of Holmedal AS is a new and innovative developer and producer of lighting products and glass objects. Since its founding in 2021, HOH has challenged major brands and quickly established itself as a solid, forward-thinking supplier of decorative quality lamps. HOH focuses primarily on high-quality mouth-blown glass globes and brass components, with an emphasis on innovation, design, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Design brief

Through DS Collab, House of Holmedal sought help to develop a lamp that reflects their design philosophy, "Anarchy in Scandinavia." The brief was to design a large pendant lamp that hangs from the ceiling using cable/wire/rod and is adaptable to form a series including table, floor, and wall lamps. The lamp should fit with existing glass products but could also introduce new concepts, forms, and materials.

«With HOH in mind, Nanna Wensaas has designed the concept "Pikekyss." The concept incorporates storytelling that reflects our design philosophy, "Anarchy in Scandinavia." With its simplicity and strong character, the design language has captured exactly what we are looking for. The result is a lamp series with a larger volume that ends in a rounded tip. The lamp is production-friendly and fits perfectly into HOH's upcoming collection.»
