About Eskoleia

Eskoleia has a rich history dating back to 1912 in manufacturing, particularly known for producing steel storage solutions. Their first lockers were produced in the 1960s, and today, they offer a wide range of storage solutions. Eskoleia has previously been awarded the "Mark of Good Design" for their MEA lockers.

Traditionally, Eskoleia has focused on designing, constructing, and assembling storage solutions with a strong emphasis on functionality. These products, often lockers and storage units, are commonly found in technical rooms where practicality is key.

Currently, Eskoleia is working on launching a recycling program for steel products, recognizing that steel producers need more recycled steel to reduce CO2 emissions during production.

With a strong heritage in functional design, Eskoleia is now taking a bold step into a new era of innovative and sustainable design. They sought assistance in developing a new generation of storage concepts.

Design brief

The designer’s task was to create a concept that incorporates Eskoleia’s focus on quality, functionality, and design. This concept would serve as the foundation for their upcoming collection, designed to harmonize with various environments and enhance daily experiences.

Key considerations included: How can steel-based storage solutions improve daily interactions and foster creativity in shared spaces? And how to balance warmth, functionality, and visual appeal in steel-based storage designs?
